Plastic pallets come in a range of sizes and dimensions to accommodate diverse industry needs. Understanding the worldwide standard plastic pallet sizes is essential for optimizing logistics and supply chain operations.

1. ISO 48×40 Inches: The most widely used plastic pallet size, conforming to the ISO standard, is 48 inches in length and 40 inches in width. It’s commonly employed in North America and other regions.

2. Euro Pallet 1200×800 mm: Commonly used in Europe and other parts of the world, the Euro-size plastic pallet measures 800mm x 1200mm.  It was standardized in 1968, even before the organization responsible for standardization and licensing was established. One of its advantages is that its smaller size allows it to easily fit through standard door openings. However, it may not fit well inside ISO standard shipping containers, and because of the increasing global trade beyond Europe, its use has declined over time. Nevertheless, the Euro Pallet is still compatible with North American pallet racking systems, making it useful in various industrial applications.

3. Euro Pallet (2) 1200×1000 mm: The European pallet 2, measuring 1200mm x 1000mm, is one of six standard European pallet sizes established by the European Pallet Association. It’s quite similar to the North American 48*40 inches pallet and can fit well into North American pallet racking systems. This compatibility has led to its growing popularity not only in Europe but also in North America and Asia.

4. Asian Pallet 1100*1100mm: The Asian Pallet became popular in Japan and Korea after World War II and later in China. Australian industries often use these pallets for international trade. Measuring 1100mm x 1100mm, they are not compatible with pallet racking systems in Europe and North America. As a result, they are gradually losing popularity in the region for international trade, with the type one Euro pallet gaining more preference.
5. Australian Pallet 1165*1165mm (45.87″ × 45.87″): Originated after World War II from pallets left behind by the U.S. military, which were square in shape. To make the pallets more manageable, the size was adjusted from the original 48×48 inches to a slightly smaller 1165×1165 millimeters (mm). Australia later developed the specialized RACE railway container, allowing two Austrilian pallets to be placed side-by-side. Despite being unique to Australia and causing some complexities in international trade, this pallet size has been retained and continues to be used in the country.

6. Other Custom Sizes: Apart from standard sizes, plastic pallets can be customized to meet specific load capacities and fit unique requirements.
